A Letter from Rev Jo

Dear friends,

As we are currently unable to gather for worship I have put some worship resources packets together for those who may appreciate them. Use and adapt them as you feel spirit led. There is a Sacred Spaces PDF booklet (hasn’t quite converted as well as the hard copies, but can be printed back to back) which can be used for daily prayer and for Sunday worship. Below are the daily readings that can be found in the Methodist prayer handbook. The A4 Word booklet is a set of reflections I’ve put together for each Sunday between now and the end of May, along with the New Testament reading and some suggested hymns for the day. Unfortunately, those of you receiving this via email will not be receiving a palm cross.

The sunrise service for Easter Sunday that I have put together for this year will be emailed out on Holy Saturday. You don’t need to join me at 5.45am which is when I will be sharing in that service, but would be welcome to do so from your homes, you can share in it at any point in the day. You could, if the weather is good go into your garden or local green space, or even from an open window – letting the world into your worship.

These materials are going to as many people across my churches at this time, encouraging us to continue to worship together even though we are apart. I hope you find it helpful. If you need any help or need someone to talk to please don’t hesitate to get in touch with your pastoral visitor or myself.

During Holy week, you may want to create your own Easter Garden ready for Easter Sunday. You could make it out in your garden, if you have one. A plant pot, draw or paint it, make it out of play dough or Lego or any other materials you have available. Be as creative as you like. If you do make one I’d love to see your photos of them.

Please do remember information is going on the circuit website as things change. There is also the circuit the circuit new Facebook page. Have a look and see what is going on. Worship was live streamed on Thursday evening and it sounds as though there may be one this coming Sunday. https://www.facebook.com/NCMethodists/?epa=SEARCH_BOX

Please keep in touch with friends, neighbours and others from your church community, and continue to pray for and with each other over the phone where possible. Pray for each other. Take care and may you know the love and peace of Christ at such an unsettling time.

Blessings

Jo
